I picked up Howell's "Highland Fire" the other day at Goodwill. I was checking to see if it is part of any series, but her website isn't very clear on that. I read somewhere that any of her books with "Highland" in the title is part of the Murray series, but it's not listed in the family tree she has on the website. Can anyone clear this up for me? Is "Highland Fire" a standalone? (I'm obsessive-compulsive when it comes to reading books in order.)

I've found that her books can be read out of order. Many of the Highland books were originally released under other book names and under her pseudonyms of Ana Jenet and Sandra Dunstin.  The "Highland" part is mostly just because her favorite subject is about Highlanders.  Only a few are actually connected but it's basically just a family connection. I don't remember any carry over plots.
