Interesting but not as good as the others in this series.
If you had never read or heard about Silence of the Lambs and the other books about Hannibal Lecter,be assured this book can stand on it's own and is a great read. Set in Eastern Europe during the German and Russian war atrocities, it details the family life-joys and horrors. Saying more would spoil it, but it does leave you both crying and cheering for Hannibal.
