Hmmm, author is Swiss, if he was American, I'd think he was a little revolutionary. Mikko the hedgehog is urged to go out into the world by his uncle, and make something of himself, he follows some examples of other animals in out-of-place situations (including a hare that goes to school but doesn't understand anything, and a racing tortoise), and Mikko decides to return to his garden, where he knows how everything works. I'm teaching a 1st grade in a suburban school right now, I wonder whether I should read this to them.
