Happy Mother's Day to all the moms!!!
My dream day would be to sit on a beach in the sunshine with a great book. <sigh> |

Got a Starbucks breakfast here & $50 + unfettered freedom to spend my morning my favorite way - hitting the local peddler's malls & flea markets, shopping for old jewelry & other assorted craftable doo-dads. Going to spend the rest of it on this new Suzanne Enoch book, and possibly putting the finishing touches on a tote bag I've been working on. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms. Spend it doing what you like best:) |

Happy Mother's Day everyone! Got my teenage daughter to babysit my son & hubby and I went to see Iron Man 2. Gotta love that Robert Downey Jr! I liked the movie overall- a nice afternoon :) Last Edited on: 5/9/10 8:22 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Happy Mother's day all - especially to any that had to work today! I'm helping my 18 year old senior - make German Chocolate Cake for 30 people -- its a history class project and yes he did most of the cooking! |

I'm sorry but mine really sucked. I had to work the day before,i'm a part time rural mail carrier so in addition to delivering mail i had to pick up canned goods along the route for the Stamp Out Hunger food drive the USPS was hosting this past Saturday. So it was a long day and my arms and shoulders were just killing me on Sunday. Added to that i had a nasty sinus headache all day. Hubby and the kids just laid around. No gift, no special breakfast in bed and not even so much as a "Happy Mother's Day". I ended up doing the grocery shopping, cleaned the house, washed dishes and did all the laundry so hubby would have his work clothes done for the week. I was so mad towards the end of the day when hubby asked what was for supper i told him to make it himself!!! I took a Sudafed and hit the bed at 8:30 pm. Let me just say that if he thinks he's getting some kind of special treatment on Father's day.........forget it!! |

Butthead:P I had to school my DH on Mother's Day years ago, & it's a lesson he hasn't forgotten since - lol. I told him that children are too inherently selfish to appreciate all their parents do for them, much less get the significance of parent's days, and if it weren't for their teachers & the other parents, those holidays probably wouldn't even be marked on standard calendars anymore. My dad was the one who saw to it that we remembered Mother's Days & vice versa. Leave a kid to his/her own devices & you can forget it. They have the attention span of cats & guilt is our only weapon:P |
