Twelve year old Harry Potter is once again living with the Dursleys for the summer before beginning a new school term. Things are not going well until Ron Weasley and his brothers come to his rescue and take Harry to their home. As Harry and his friends return to Hogwarts, they find some strange things are happening. Students have been attacked in the hallways and left petrified. Harry hears a whispering in the walls, but no one else seems to notice it. Harry, Ron and Hermione come to the conclusion that someone has opened the legendary Chamber of Secrets. They must find the opening and stop the monster that lives within.

The second Harry Potter book is just as good as the first. This time around Harry and his friends ride in a flying car, meet an elf named Dobey and a ghost who inhabits a bathroom, and find a diary with invisible ink. New characters in the series include Ron's little sister, Ginny, and a new professor at Hogwarts, Gilderoy Lockhart. I listened to the audio version of this book. You can't beat Jim Dale's excellent narration. My rating: 5 Stars.
