Well written story about power and corruption. Some scenes contain graphic sexual content. I liked it but my mother would not approve.

A hard to read but spellbinding book with the backdrop of the approaching civil war. Set on a cane plantation it is the story of 3 generations of masters and their slaves. I found this book hard to put down and yet horrifying at the same time.
