This one won't be for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The last book I had this strange reaction to (that I had on this one) was the book 'The Gargoyle.' (Another excellent book.) Their similarity lies in the reaction you have on 'how did the author decide to write about this?' How to review it? It's a very simple story unlike what you would expect in a 243 pg book. Simple story, incredibly good writing, description to the max, a bit haunting as you go along. Entire book told first person by the main character. You are inside his head looking out. The title is spot-on. I can see why it was a Man Booker Prize Finalist 2013.
