An Author re-releases a book with a new title.Like Laymon did.I read a book by him(about a bus driven by a maniac) and I had GLORY BUS on my wishlist.Forunatly it dawned on me that I had alreaDY READ Glory Bus but under a different title.Anyone know of any of his other books that have been re=released under new titles. It seems  like a kind kind of slick/slimy thing to do!

Well, don't blame Richard Laymon. Because I don't think it was his wish to have books with multiple titles and because he's dead.

Some of his books were published in the UK with different titles than they had when published in the US. I believe this was the publisher's decision.

I'm sure if you google or check Amazon you can find references to which books were released with different titles.

I agree that stinks.  I especially hate when they keep publishing work from the author years after he's passed.   I'm pretty sure this has happened to Laymon also.  The author might have left notes or a very rough draft and the publishers get a ghostwriter to finish it under the author's name.

I recently had this happen with a Laymon book but I think I just forgot I read it!

I may be mistaken but in Laymon's case, I think the books published after his death were actually completely his own and they were discovered by his son. I remember reading one that took his son months (if not years) to put together because he was missing some pages in the middle and the book wasn't put together until his son discovered the missing pages written by Laymon himself.

Nicole,

You are almost correct! It was his daughter :) And I think you are thinking of The Woods are Dark? I believe that the re-release had a whole new chapter from the found pages. Yes, I love me some Laymon ^_^
