Wow! I can't say enough good things about this book! I found it purely by accident at the local public library and read it in about two days, tops. If you like Stephen King, you'll love this! It's equal parts "Jurassic Park" and "The Mist" (a short story by the King himself). Tall trees suddenly erupt out of the ground in a small town in New Mexico and ends up engulfing the entire town. A local businessman sets out to turn a profit from this and turns it into a Haunted Forest tour, as the forest is now inhabited by ghosts and goblins and all sorts of creepy crawlies. Of course the best tour is on Halloween. Also, everyone around knows that this business is all about top-notch safety for all of their patrons, right? This was easily the best book I've read in a long while. I can't more highly recommend this book! The copy I read was also nicely illustrated!

This was a wild ride! This haunted forest has every manner of monster, creature, ghostly, ghastly, bump-in-the-night thing we ever imagined and many more we didn't. It's an exciting, tense Halloween tale. It's over the top (who would really sign up for this tour?) but it is scary fun. It is seriously gruesome in places though (I'll admit I'm somewhat squeamish). If you are a horror fan and okay with gruesome then I would recommend.
