This is book 11 in the series and maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I had started with number one. The setup sounded great - Ishmael is an alien who crash landed on Earth and passes for human thanks to advanced technology. He solves myteries with Penny, his love interest, while working for a secret organization. As far as I can tell his only special powers are heightened senses. The banter between the partners was a lot of fun, but the mystery was repetitive to the point of being irritating.
