I can't find the thread to post this but I have to say thanks for putting me back on to Haven Kimmel.  I read Zippy a while back and didn't know she had anymore books.  Reading somewhere on this forum, I saw a list of her other books and have since read She Got Up Off the Couch, and Other Miracles.  Not sure if that's the exact title but I liked it even more than Zippy.  I've got one of her novels checked out and it's next on my reading list.  Just wanted to say keep posting those hidden gems and I will be reading this forum much more often.

Thanks for the reminder.  I too read Zippy a long while ago and have always intended to read more by her.  - Now it's at the top of my list again.  Well at least closer to the top LOL.

I recently finished the Couch, and liked it even better than the Growing Up Small which I loved.  Her mother getting off the couch showed a whole different aspect of her sitting there throughout the first book, a whole different facet of her father, too.  I just loved this sequel.  While still being funny, and being told by the Zippy we loved, it grew a much bigger heart.

On the other hand, my daughter just finished Couch and while she liked it, she said with a shrug, It sure wasn't Zippy. Different tastes.

And she, my husband, and 11 year old granddaughter and I all listened to the audio of Growing up Small and oh wow, what a terrific job Kimmel did reading that book.  I listen to so many audios and find that all too often the author's reading of it just ruins it.
