This isn't an H/F book, but I was hoping someone might recognize it anyway!

I was browsing at Target this morning and found a book I wanted to add to my WL, but I forgot the title. Wah...

The book was a hardcover with a pale pink/purple-ish dustjacket. I think it had just a one word title. I don't think there was any cover art on the dustjacket, just text.

The book is set in the future; a future where you can get a medication that prevents you from falling in love. The main character, a young woman, was looking forward to the day when she could get the love cure. That's all I know of the plot.

I believe this author only has one other book published, but I can't remember the title to it either. They had it sitting right next to this book on the shelf.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks for the help!! I really want to read this one - it sounds like it will be a cut, fun read!

Sounds like Delirium by Lauren Oliver! I looked at that one, too.

That's it, Kelly!! Thank you so much! I was totally off on the color of it though, huh?!

I love books set in the future and this one sounds really cute. I just gotta try it!

Thanks, again, Kelly! Not being able to remember something I just saw an hour ago was driving me bonkers! I do believe I will have to lurve you now. Hugs and luuuuurve. :-D

Hehe, you're welcome! I keep a running memo of book titles I see in Target that interest me so that I can come home and add them to my RL/WL. It sounded familiar, and yep! It was one of them. It sounds like a fun, quick read!

Lots of hugs and luuurve back! LOL!

Elizabeth, they really are!! They are fast too, huh?!

I bet you knew the title too, didn't you? Secret master of the world is dead right! ;-)

LOL! I usually have a handy-dandy notebook in my bag just for that reason, plus a note page in my blackberry for book titles, but, today, I ran out of the house without my purse or my phone. Duh.

Well, since you have a list, maybe you will know another one for me...This time I'm trying to remember a series...

They are young adult novels - I believe it is a trilogy. I think all of the books have just one word as the title. I don't remember anything about the plots, but I do remember the cover art. I think it's in the paranormal genre, but I'm not totally sure.

It has a dark and gloomy feel to it and there is a young woman standing there with a billowing, flowy kind of dress, I think. I think each of the books has just a standing woman on the cover, but I am really unsure about this.

That's all I remember, so this one might be a bit harder. Any ideas?

:::squelches the urge to say "Twilight!":::: devil

Could it be Sapphique by Catherine Fisher?  It is the sequel to Incarceron, not sure about a trilogy, though Fisher has several trilogies out already.

Or Tempestuous by Lesley Livingston? It is the 3rd in a YA trilogy.

Unearthly by Cynthia Hand?  1st in a not-yet-finished trilogy.

Cloaked by Alex Flinn?  She's done several modern fairy tales with covers that are similar, though I don't think they're a trilogy.

Fire by Kristin Cashore?  She did Graceling too.

Shadowspell by Jenna Black?   Part of the Faeriewalker series.

I need to get me to Target and check out their books...

Hmm...doesn't sound familiar. What about Nightshade? I know there's a second one, but I don't think it's out yet. Not the same kind of cover you described, but she has billowy hair...maybe you're confused again? LOL  ;) Or, Paranormalcy by Kiersten White, perhaps? That's a kinda eery, billowy dress gal cover. But I don't think that's part of a series.

Wait! You're talking about Lauren Kate's books I bet!

Fallen

Torment

and there's another that is either just released or soon to be released.

eta: Looks like the 3rd is Passion.

Wee!! This is fun! LOL!

Ooohh-oohh....I know!  (I think)

Is it Fallen by Lauren Kate?  Book 2 is Torment, and Book 3 is Passion.

Kelly and Vicky, that is it! Fallen!! Thanks, again! You are wonderful, dahlings...:-D

Elizabeth, thank you, too! You remembered the title of a book I was trying to remember last week, but forgot to ask about! You've actually read my mind, lol! I was trying to remember which book I loaned to my niece, but she never returned it so I needed another copy so I can read the darn thing. It was Graceling!

Now, do any of you know where I put the pretty little ceramic tape dispenser that I bought at the thrift store a few moths ago? It's so cute!

You are doing so good with finding stuff - it's worth a try! I finally remembered to buy the tape at Target this morning and now I can't find the holder. Boo.

Valli, did you check on top of your bookshelves? In your car still in a bag? (I do that one a lot, lol.)

Hmm...I got nothing else. :)

My daughter is 16. I talked her into joining the teen book club at our local Barnes and Nobles. She wasnt real sure cause all she had read to that point were animal fantasy. The only exception was teh Maximum Ride books by James Patterson and they are about bird/children.  The book club opened her up to fantasy romance a topic she NEVER wanted to read. Now that is all she is reading. She read the Immortals series by Alyson Noel and really liked it, along with the House of Night series about vampires by P.C. Cast. If you are interested in the Fallen books you might like these as well.
