Truly one of the silliest, most melodramatic books I have ever read. I only recently discovered Verge and have greatly enjoyed her work thus far, but this book is awful. The plot is ridiculously overwrought, the heroine is a total nitwit, and the dialogue is pure drivel.

From the back of the book: Disguised as a lad, raven-haired Adriana Joubet hired on a cabin boy to the notorious SEA Wolf. She knew the Englishman was a traiter who preyed on his own countymen, and she scorned him for that. Yet the ravages of war left the french waif no choice: either stay and starve or go to sea with an infamous pirate! Then in the privacy of his cherrywood cabin, the suntanned captain discovered her charade! As a sea-green twillight bathed the room he taught Adriana the ways of a man and mate, and made her heart sing. but only Adriana knew the shocking truth about the Sea wolf. And when he betrayed her, the dark haired beauty would seek her revenge-unaware of how desire could consume her and love could conquere her heart...The Hearts Disguise!
