I enjoyed this story for it's out-of-the-boxness. The heroine is a fallen starlet, the hero a department store magnate set on reviving his store's own fallen stardom. There was a lot of depth to this story, and a lot of back-and-forth about who each of the characters was. The underlying issues were played out over the entire breadth of the book, with a focus on the heroine's, which was probably smart as she was the one who had much more to overcome, being a fallen starlet and all. The hero seemed a good foil, but because Aurelie was so big, he seemed to be shadowed at points. The story was more down-to-earth, in some ways, than a lot of other Presents, but that wasn't a bad thing. Aurelie is really the star of this book, and it's enjoyable to watch her find love as the tale unfolds.
