Started out a litte slow, but then got going and was interesting. Unfortunately, after reading every V.C. Andrews book there is, I was able to come up with 2 different ending - one of which is pretty much how it turned out. Still a good read and well worth my time!

Even though I knew just about everything that was going to happen before it happened, I was still drawn in by the intensity of the plot and the character of Cassie. I knew whatever Cassie was going to say next was going to be deceitful but I still hung onto every word she said. The only problem with Cassie was how redundant she was: everything she said to Semantha was ended with the phrase, "We are Heavenstones, after all." Cassie was a bit of a broken record by the end of the book. An evil, deceitful, conniving, broken record.

Then there was the character of Semantha who was in every way the opposite of Cassie: quiet, reserved, and unsure of herself. On the one hand, I feel terribly sorry for Semantha and all she had to put up with with her sister. She was never allowed to be herself. But on the other hand, Semantha is the naivest fourteen-year-old I've ever read about. While there were times I wanted to give her a hug, more often there were times I wanted to scream at her and tell her to stand up to her sister and tell her father the truth.

Overall the book gets three stars from me, because I liked the plot and how the book wrapped up, but it lost stars for its predictability and repetitiveness.

Trash. The story was obvious, contrite and shallow. The Andrews family needs to hire a new shadow writer.

was a very good book. It kept you right there. Even though the sister was a bit annoying the book is a must read.

I've been a V.C. Andrews reader for years. Her books were the first book I ever read, and out of everyone of them I still can't wait for more. Lately, it seems with the new ones coming out that they are a little slow. It seems as if it takes forever to finally get into the main focus of the story and that is how I felt with "The Heavenstone Secrets." If you're someone who has fallowed Andrews as much as I have then give this book a shot, because you will at least start getting into it in the middle of the story. If this is your first book you will be reading of Andrews then I suggest to pick one of her older ones to start out with so you can see the way her stories are written.

I love all of the V.C. Andrews books I have read. This book was an interesting story that started out a little slow but really made up for it in the end. With twists and turns that are not quite expected. It really keeps you drawn in. :)
