This is a fabulous biography, covering all facets of Helen Keller's remarkable life. The author is an excellent writer, and the life itself, of course, was exceptionally well lived. The saddest thing is that Helen was never encouraged or allowed to marry and have a family, which at one point in her life she ardently hoped to do. For all her independent will & strong convictions, Helen was, due to her profound disability, at the mercy of her companions, Annie Sullivan at first; then Polly Thomson, who drove her to - it has to be said, acheive much more than most sighted & hearing people do. Excellent bio & highly recommended...
