Steven Gould is an excellent writer and this book is a fine example of his skill. You truly care about his people. I hated for the book to end.
I loved this book. A great blend of coming-of-age and aikido. Great addition to S. Gould's works.

A strange one for Gould, out of charachter with Jumper and Wildside

I liked Gould's other books because of their emphasis on sci-fi. While this book has a small sci-fi component, it's really a military, countries-at-war type book. Lots of time spent on martial arts training, which was an interesting sub-plot.
