Because some my wish list books, I'm #1 or #2 or #3 in line and I want know if I get off line when I put my account on hold because I still want the book offer to me when I way(I will have access to internet)

Thank in advance for answering my question.

Per the Help Center:

"The Vacation/Hold feature also puts your Wish List on Hold

  • You can keep selected items (or all items) on your Wish List active by setting them to auto-request."

Something to keep in mind though...will you have someone picking up your mail so that you will know when the books arrive because if you order them with Auto Request you need to be able to mark them received in a timely manner..

Also the system will hold your place in line while you're on vacation.  So you don't have to put all your WL books on auto request. You can just put the one's that you're near the top for if you want.  You'll keep moving up the line on the one's on hold.  It just skips over you if you're in the 1st position and on hold.  It puts you back in 1st when you come off hold.

Are you putting you mail on hold with the USPS?  It will catch the books mailed out but not received before you leave.  You might want to re-route your mail to someone's address so they can catch them and mark them received if you trust them.  It may also screw up your USPS mail delivery when you return.  I don't have any experience with that.

The post office won't forward media mail.   I don't think having your mail put on hold will effect getting your books.  They'll just hold them until you claim them.  If your mails on hold they won't send a media mail book back.  But as far as I know they won't forward media mail. So having it sent to someone else could cause some to get sent back to the sender w/return postage due.

It's not very fair to the other members to have some books go lost though.  They might be in read need of that credit.  So if that's the case then I think it's best to just put everything on hold. But if someone's getting your mail for you and you have computer access then go ahead and put them on autorequest.

Thanks everybody and yes I live with my family so once I'm gone, my mom. brother, sisters,etc.. will get my mail so I wouldn't have any problem with getting the books.
