It's my turn to pick the new book for this months bookclub.  I'm looking for recommendations.  Some of the books we have alreay read are:

The Room, Night Road, A Thousand Spendid Suns, Unbroken, Incredible Life of Henrietta Lachs (that's all  I can think of right now!)

Poisonwood bible by Kingsolver

The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff

Raising Wrecker by Summer Wood

Beside a Burning Sea by John Shors

Dad by William Wharton

Blind Your Ponies by Stanley G. West

The Breakdown Lane by Jacquelyn Mitchard

Earth Abides by George R. Stewart

The Ginger Tree by Oswald Wynd

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

Just to list a few from my Books I have read list.  Pm me if you want to know more about any of them.  You didn't mention the age or life situation of your group so this list is really varied.

All 3 made for great bookclub discussions.

Our book club has read quite a few that are already mentioned, but two that I don't see listed are -

The Soldier's Wife by Margaret Leroy

Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs

Both books were very well liked by the group and generated much discussion.  I sort of secretly groaned when "Friday Night" was selected and I was surprised about how much I liked it.

The Lonely Polygamist ........excellent choice.  I think this book would spark great reflection and conversation.

Recent book read by our book club that most members really liked was "Rules of Civility" by Amour Towles

Other favorites:  "Still Alice",  "Loving Frank", "Language of Flowers", "Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society", "Cutting for Stone"

You might like to check these out.
