okay, soooo in my search for a way to get rid of my old books, i came across a newspaper article about an elementary school in cleveland who didnt have enough money or funding to have a school library. a pastor found out and held a book drive where people donated books they didnt want anymore. the pastor took all the donations to the school so they could start a library. they are still accepting donations, and are mostly looking for young adult stuff(like middle school age) but will take anything. from what i understand this school is in a part of the city where for most families books are privlages, and most families do not have many if any in their homes for their children to read. I dont know about you, but when i was in elementary school, the day that we called "library day" (when we got to go and pick books to take out and read) was my absolute favorite time of the week! i cant imagine not having that! so what im asking is.......
if anybody has an unpostables that you think are suitable to send to this school and would like to donate, please send them to me or pm me to work out a deal, as i am sending a box soon, and would love to send a second box.
also if anybody would be willing to offer me a deal on childrens books, i would not be opposed to spending some credits depending on the deal!
thanks so much in advance! and im sorry if i didnt get all of the information correct!
heres the article for the curious or if you would rather just send donations straight to them.
