I have 6 books on my bookshelf without photos. 3 of these have photos in the system (same book, different ISBN #). I have not had any luck sending in photos for editing. Can someone help me send in photo edits using the book covers already in the system. The 3 books are: Crazy for You by Jennifer Crusie Mystery for Christmas by Richard Dalby Before I Wake (LP) by Dee Anderson The 3 covers are: Thank you for any help you can offer ! if you save the picture from the same books and then use the link at the bottom of the page that says upload book covers. once you do that a mod will approve it and you will have book covers on your books. If you tried to do it via the edit book details that is why you haven't had any luck that is really the only way to do it, there isn't a linking system that I'm aware of to share the same book cover images ETA: I just saved the book covers to my computer and uploaded them using the link at the bottom of the page. it takes a bit to approve them so hopefully you will see them in the next day or so. Linda, there is a delay for the approval of book cover uploads. The imaging team is a group of volunteers who help out in their spare time. So wait a week, and then try to upload them using the link below. Make sure the images are less than 5 MB or they'll be rejected. Hope this helps! |

Oh Leslie, thank you. I was using the edit book details. That and I didn't have them cropped, I guess. So, do you save the small image or the large one to your hard drive and is it already cropped or do you have to do something else to it after you right click and save? That's where I got confused. I didn't know if I could just save as and then upload. Jane, I haven't done any covers for a few months because I wasn't doing them right (I guess) and I didn't want to waste anyone's time with messed up images. Any time I fix book copy, I usually wait a few weeks because I know everyone is busy but images just seem to escape me. Thanks both of you for all your help!! |

I just clicked on the small images and saved those with the book title (to make it easier on me)....guess we'll see if they accept them! they should already be cropped so you shouldn't have to do anything in that regard. now if you download from Amazon you will need to do some cropping and now you know how to upload the book images! for some reason it doesn't work on the edit book data Last Edited on: 5/7/08 7:53 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Thank you !! It's true that you learn something new every day so we'll see how it goes. |

Just for added information, I'm with the Image Approval group, and the larger images are the better ones to save and submit, rather than the smaller ones. Often, when an Approver sees a small image come through for approval, we have to stop and take the time to see if we can find a bigger image to substitute. Then we need to submit the bigger image and have it go through the approval process, so it takes much more time for a small image to get through the system. |

Robin, thank you for that info. Now I know. Like I said earlier, I usually don't bother with images because I know if they aren't done correctly, it's just more of a PITA for the approval group. I'll keep that in mind for images already in the system. Thanks again !! |
