One of the things I really love about the PBS site is the awesome quantity of books! And one of the main things that is truly frustrating about this site is that there is an awesome quantity of books! Now, me - I don't buy credits. I just get them when I swap. But these days there are so many books that the chance of you getting one of your books requested are quite slim. That is why, when I get down to, around, maybe ZERO credits (like now) I try to entice people into requesting books by giving away beautiful, durable, clever and collectable original bookmarks (not only are they all of these things, but they really, really work!) with each book. Most, but not all, design ideas can be seen HERE.

It is a direct result of the banter and oft-lively exchange in these here forums that prompted me to make my first bookmarks - which can be seen HERE - , and things have been rolling along unstoppable (and sometimes uncontrollable) ever since. SO, with only 3 weeks until The Half Blood Prince comes out, I am announcing my very first TRIPLE F (Four For Free) bookmark event. Anyone that requests a book will get 4 original 'daddio' bookmarks included, including my brand new 'Harry Potter 6' series. Full details will be posted in the Book Bazaar HERE. Not only will you have the coolest bookmarks in town to read with, but you'll have plenty to give to family & friends.

Just one small favor. If you read this and enjoy perusing my designs, please just leave a brief line or even a word here to bump it to the top for a while. I need to get rid of a LOT of bookmarks. Thanks to all who have supported me and who will help in the future as well. Have a great summer of reading. Stay cooool.

I ordered a book, Don.  Your bookmarks are the greatest!  I can't wait to get the new HP.  I'll have new, original HP bookmarks and no one I know will have one like them.

Thanks for this offer!

I actually still have some of the very first "Daddio" bookmarks ever offered at PBS. They are the black & white ones with cute sayings about reading printed on them.

You have come a long way since those very first bookmarks! The ones I have are great, but the new ones are fan-tab-u-lous! :-D

Thanks for the response so far. I really like doing these projects, and I'm glad to see that others like it, as well.

Don,

You said:>"I try to entice people into requesting books by giving away beautiful, durable, clever and collectable original bookmarks (not only are they all of these things, but they really, really work!) with each book."<

---------------------------------------

I think a lot of readers have a passion for making bookmarks as well as a passion for reading books, kinda goes hand in hand. A couple years ago I cross-stitched one of my favorite suspense authors (who is also a friend) a bookmark with his initials stitched in the middle and characters from all his books (or at least as many as I could fit) stitched in miniature, scattered all over the bookmark in every direction. He liked it so much he refused to use it as a bookmark, he said he was afraid he'd mess it up LOL. He put it on a little display stand, which was the highest compliment to me.

You might like to check out the Games Forum, there's quite often a Bookmark-Making & Swapping Thread. It's great fun, I've particpated in 2 or 3 and still have the bookmarks given to me. Some who make them are quite talented! You might have enjoy it?
