Hello!

There are several books that I remember reading and would love to find again.  I can't remember the titles but thought I'd share what I do remember in the hopes that someone can help me!  I'm guessing these would have been from the 80's or early 90's, but I'm not sure.  I also tend to stick with the Harlequin/Silhouette type books...so I know it is a stretch, but here goes!!!

Book #1:

I remember there is a wedding and the bride is very young, just after the wedding a lady tells her that the man she just married is in love with someone else.  I think they must be marrying because the man is honoring a request from her father to look after her or something.  Anyway, she asks him just a few minutes later while still at the church if he is in love with someone and he tells her yes...she then runs away from him not realizing that she is the one he loves.  Somehow she ends up working somewhere in a convent and never does come home, but he keeps tabs on her.  The place she is staying at needs money so she returns to him to ask for the money that her father left her.  He tells her she can have all the money she wants but in return he wants an heir...all she has to do is have his child and she can have anything she wants.

Book #2:

The hero wants a piece of land that used to belong to his family and the man who owns it has a daughter and wants an heir so he tells the hero that if he marries his daughter and produces a male heir he can have what he wants.  The daughter is portrayed as a flakey irresponsible lady.  He marries her and I'm thinking he takes her to his home in Greece?  She has a younger sister that stays at a boarding school?  She gets a call and her sister is sick and alone and she leaves to be with her - only she is told that if she leaves she gives up all rights to the baby.  She leaves anyway and he catches her at the door and demands to know why her sister deserves her loyalty and not the child she carries. She then reveals that her sister is really her daughter and that she has no one but her, but the child she carries will have it's fathers constant care and concern - she has to go to her sister.  He goes with her...

Thank you in advance!

Melissa

Melissa,

Book #2 sounds like Price of a Bride by Michelle Reid.

Back Cover description: When Mia Frazier agreed to her father's demand to marry Greek millionaire Alexander Doumas, she knew both men stood to gain from the deal--Alex would win back his family's island, and Mia's father would get the grandson and heir he so desperately longed for. But what about Mia? She had her own reason for agreeing to be Alex's wife--which was not financial gain, as Alex cynically believed. But how could the truth stay hidden, when she shared such intense passion with her new husband...and was now carrying his child?

Thank you!

Seton, I did not recognize Sara Craven's name but I did go through her books and there are several that sound very familiar but not quite the one I'm remembering.  I appreciate the name though, because I definitely plan to check out a few of her books.

Arica, I'm 90% positive that this is the book I'm looking for.  I recognize the hero's name for some reason so I do know that I've read it.  I've ordered it and can't wait to find out if it is the one!

Thank you both, again!

Melissa

I believe #1 is Blackmail Baby by Penny Jordan, HP2247 (re-issued a half-dozen times); here's the blurb according to my Byron:

TWO MILLION POUNDS TO SLEEP WITH HER HUSBAND -- AND HAVE HIS BABY!

Imogen wanted nothing more than to be Dracco Barrington's bride!  But a shocking revelation on their wedding day changed everything.  She ran down the church steps... and right out of her brand-new husband's life....

She thought she would never see him again.  But four years later Imogen needs money, and super-rich Dracco makes an outrageous proposal.  One million pounds if she returns to him and shares his bed -- and a million more when she gives birth to his child!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone has a price...

HE OFFERED HER EVERYTHING BUT WHAT SHE WANTED MOST!

When eighteen-year-old Imogen married Dracco Barrington, she did so with an open heart.  He was her deceased father's business partner, and she had loved him all her life.  But shortly after the wedding ceremony, Imogen uncovered a truth about Dracco that sent her fleeing... all the way to Rio de Janeiro!

Four years later Imogen needed money.  Badly.  But when she returned to Dracco's London home, she received an offer that was nothing less than shocking.  Dracco would pay her one million pounds to stay and be his wife... and another million if she agreed to have his baby!  On the surface, Imogen seemed to be getting what she wanted -- the money she urgently needed, a family she longed for and the man she desperately loved.  But at what cost?
