Maybe you guys can point me in the right direction.

A friend gave me hjs Kindle a while back.  He hated it.  Downloaded one book and never used it again.  I was thinking of giving this one to my son.  How does one wipe the history from a Kindle?

I don't know the password on this one-and don't want to ask the giver.  I'm just afraid he might feel it's tacky-but I certainly don't need two.

I've looked all over Amazon for a customer service number(so I can talk to a real person) but can't find anything.

Any thoughts?

Jan

Amazon Customer Service

Jan, try this link to contact Amazon.  I use the live chat, and have had excellent results!  I bought a Kindle from a library patron, and we were able to register it to me, but I'm fuzzy on the details. (Age, you know!)

You may have to ask your friend to deregister the Kindle so you can use it. Good luck!
