I posted a book that I wanted to put on hold. I IMMEDIATELY after posting this book tried to put it on hold, but I cannot because it is on wish list hold by another member. I PMd this member to explain it was a mistake, but now I can't put the book on hold nor can I delete it. What did I do wrong? How can I fix this?

First put your account on vacation hold. Then one of two things will happen within the next 48 hours:

1) The wisher will accept the offer. You decline, which will remove the book from the system. Take your account off vacation hold.

2) The wisher will ignore the offer. The book will go onto your shelf. Delete the book or put it on individual hold. Take your account off vacation hold.

If the wisher wants to stay on the wish list, he or she should make sure to accept the offer so you can decline the request.

You will have to wait until they accept the order and then cancel it.   If they decline it I believe they lose their place in line.

If you post a Wish List book to your bokshelf, it will immediately be held for the Wish List. Someone will need to accept the offer and then you will have you cancel it. Do not tell people not to accept it, they will lose their place in the Wish List line if they do they, you need to be the one to cancel.

If you want Wish List books on hold on your Bookshelf you will need to go through some extra steps. Before posting apply a Vacation Hold to your shelf. Once you can see the Vacation Hold is on, then post the book. Go to you Bookshelf, check the book and apply the Individual Hold. Then you can remove the Vacation Hold.
