my 4 year old home schooled grandson  has certainly thrived by working with his mom.  now, this kid has some book requsts which i am at a loss to send him.  he is asking my daughter about sex--is there a book she can use to provide him with age appropriate info?  he wants books about chemistry, fossils, and astronomy.  please help me.  thanks, everybody.  linda

Rats, I've already sent out any books like those for that age.

For science, I highly recommend the Magic School Bus books.  Someone should be able to give you a great deal on them, as there's a TON posted in the system.  I'd post in the BB asking for one.

We approached the whole sex/reproduction thing very matter-of-factly, with biology/anatomy books as a base, as DS has always been interested in science.  Little by little he read and we discussed.  I never had any PreK-Kdg books for him that were children's books about - all were too babyish for him.  Some others here may have some recommendations.  We just approached it like any other body system.  Once DS started putting together the links, and had  human reproduction down, he said "Oh, like mating...for humans!"  So the animal world helped...books, our many pets, etc.
