Hi everyone,

I am having trouble picking a name for my latest foster kitten.  I just can't seem to settle on a name.  He is partly feral and I am socializing him so his personlity is not real apparent right now.  I did not realize that I relied so much on a foster's personality to decide on a name until this one started to be so hard to name.  If anyone has the time, can you please visit my blog and cast a vote in my poll to help me chose his name?  There is also a blog post about his name where you can leave alternate suggestions in the comment section.  The link to my blog is in my signature.  Thanks for the help.

He's a real cutie, I'd like to suggest Ash. (I tried posting a comment on your blog but it wanted a profile?, so I thought I'd post here instead). That's what our gray male is called, he also has some white on him, though not as much as your unnamed foster. I can't take credit for the name, he was already called that when we adopted him from our local SPCA. We liked it though and it seems to suit him, (he just turned 1 last month).

It's great that you're doing foster work. I'd love to but I have health problems that would make it difficult and there's also the small problem that I fall in love with every cat/kitten that I see!! We have 5 cats total, one that adopted us (she ran into our apartment) and 4 adopted from the SPCA -Kitty, Leo, Molly, Ash and Onyx. They're my babies! One of these days, I'll figure out how to put photos of them in my signature, lol.

Do post here as well, to let us know what he ended up being called ....

I have the same problem, Emma. Can't figure how to get anything into the computer.

I voted, Michelle, but I would also like you to consider Fang. Cool name, right? He is adorable.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I do like them also.  I ended up fostering because I have health problems that prevent me from going into the shelter to volunteer so fostering lets me help in my home.  It is very hard to give them up.  I just picked up two new fosters today and one of my foster mom cats was still at the shelter waiting to be adopted.  It was sooo hard to put her down and leave her there especially since she recognizes me and comes right over to me.

As for the photos in my signature, they were taken with a digital camera and stored on my hard drive.  To make them small enough to go in my signature I used this site:  http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/

You upload the picutre to the site and set the pixel box to 75 and then they will be small enough to add to your signature.

Thank you so much Michelle, for letting me know how to create avatars!!!

You can now see 4 of my babies  - L to R are Kitty (F, 5 y o), Leo (M, 9 y o), Molly (F, 18 mths) and Ash (M, 12 mths). Onyx is our newest addition and still a little camera shy. She's a very petite, 11 month old and as her name suggests, she's totally black - all you ever see are her eyes and collar!

Keep up your great work and thanks again!

And the winner is . . .

With 50% of the vote - Griffin!

So my now not so scared little guy has a name.  And just in time I think.  He will probably be able to go back to the shelter and be adopted out soon since he is no longer afraid of us or his surroundings.  ETA:  He will be returning to the shelter tomorrow am to be fixed and adopted out!

Thanks to everyone who voted and for all the suggestions.  I have stored the suggestions away for future foster kitties who need names.
