I've been trying to remember the title of a book I read as a pre-teen or young teen in the early 70's. It's about an Amish girl who goes to a regular school with non-Amish kids. She makes friends with a girl whose name was, I believe, Gloria and they wear each other's clothes one day (I may be confusing this with another book). Gloria moves away and toward the end of the book she receives a letter from Gloria and learns her mother has died. (Sorry for the minor spoiler!) If anyone knows what book this is I would be so grateful, as I have pretty much exhausted my PBS (as well as a couple of other book sites) searching skills trying to find it.
And just to save a little time, it is neither "Shoo-Fly Girl" by Lois Lenski nor "Plain Girl" by Virginia Sorensen.
Thanks in advance to anyone who knows what book I'm talking about or knows a better way for me to find out.
