Long story short..a member marked a book mailed, ignored pm's (obviously she didn't mail the book)..book goes lost. It was a WL book, now there's one copy in the system. How do I find out, before I order if it's her book? Obviously she won't mail it again and I don't care for the fact that my credit is held for well over a month in cases like this (35 days to go lost plus the 10 days before it's mailed) I'd like the book but would like to request it from someone else. How do I do that? Thanks.

If you're ordering directly from a shelf you can click the order button and then before you confirm the order you can use the order more from this member button. At that point you can check to see the rest of her shelf and discover the member name, etc. I do this all the time when ordering series - I'll 'order' one of the books in the series and then see if they have the others. If not, I back completely out of the transaction, and since it hasn't been confirmed it doesn't go through. Then I try again for a different book in the series.

I think if a book is lost in the mail it does not return to her list. The member would have to go through the steps to repost it. Perhaps she would go through the exercise but why if there is no intention of mailing. Perhaps the librarian will give you the information re posting member or at least confirm it is not the person who failed to mail previously.

As soon as you order the book, you should get a PM button on the request.  You can click that to see who the member is.  Then, you could cancel if it's the same member as before.  As long as the request isn't accepted and the label printed on the other person's end, you can always cancel a request.

How about going to that person's shelf and seeing if the book is on it? You said there is only one copy posted -- if she has it on her shelf, then that's hers. You should be able to click on her name in your transaction archive to get to her bookshelf.
