I just received back a package I mailed to another member. There is a yellow RTS (Return to Sender) sticker on it.  The space "Attempted Not Known" is checked. What does this mean?  Also, there is a Postage due stamp on the sticker for $2.23.  Do I owe that?  I am confused.  Will any postal employees care to unconfuse me?  Please.

Jason - PM the member and make sure their address is correct - If it is, go to your post office and tell them that the address is correct and print off the other member's acknowledgement.  Anytime media mail is returned you must pay for that as well.  In most cases, the post office will try again, no charge to you.  I'm not sure what the postal carrier did ... but if it is a legit addy, then, well ....  Good luck.

As Janet said, the first thing to do is try to figure out if this is a USPS error. If it is, then you can work with them to correct it.

If it was not a USPS error, then you do have to pay the $2.23 in postage due. The other member should compensate you for this if he ordered a book to be sent to an invalid address. If you are not able to reach him within a few days, then it may be an inactive account and you should use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the screen so PBS can close it before this happens to more people.
