I recently read about two older ladies who resolved to do something nice for someone else everyday this year, even if it was something as simple as holding a door open for someone they didn't know, or just being extra courteous. I thought that was a really cool idea. Before Christmas, my son and I packed a large Christmas gift bag with a six pack of water, a loaf of freshly baked goodies, and some other food. I then drove around looking for a homeless person. We have a number of them in our town. There was a homeless man standing by the traffic light at Wal-Mart. I was about ten cars back, so it would be kind of tricky to hand him the bag after the light turned green, especially since the bag was heavy, with the six-pack of water on the bottom. I'd have to slow completely down, which would probably annoy all the people behind me trying to make it through the green light. I'd have to rely upon the good Christmas spirit of the people behind me to be patient for a few seconds. The light changed, I grabbed my bag with one hand, drove with the other, and then slowed down as I reached the homeless man. When I rolled my window down, he approached the car. I hoisted the bag over, saying: "Merry Christmas." He was really surprised, as it was a very big bag, and we'd even decorated it with ribbon and tissue paper. The people behind me were surprised, too, as now of them beeped their horns, or got mad at me. He told me: "God Bless you," and I drove on. I thought, "Well, that was fun, but that was just one person on one day, what about the other 364 days a year?" So, this year, I want to do stuff to help other people, on other days, and not just the holidays. I also want to make sure I pray everyday for my brother, who has a very rare form of spinal cancer, and is in Stage 4. And, on a selfish, personal note, I want to update my blog, because I like to write. So, what are your resolutions? - Diana
