I need to find a way to cut up old credit/gift cards to use like charms for a bracelet. I need them to be uniform in size & not leave sharp edges. I had thought I could use a craft punch but the one I purchased would not cut thru the plastic. Here's links to show a couple of the bracelet ideas... http://www.etsy.com/listing/85997998/up-cycled-recycled-gift-card-bracelet |

Most punches are made for paper, and won't cut through something as heavy as plastic. Some won't even cut through heavier weight card stock, so you probably would need to look at die cutters. You'd have to check the specs on them to make sure they can handle something like plastic though. I have a Sizzix Big Shot and I know it will cut through fabric and pressboard, but not sure about plastic. Also, on the edges, you might just need to sand them down a bit with a fine-grain sand paper to soften them. I would take a look at different die cutters and see what might work best. Good luck! |

Thanks Lesley. Can die cutters be found at craft stores? |

Sometimes- I believe JoAnn's carries some by Sizzix and Cricut. They are expensive in the stores, unless you can find a coupon. Michaels and JoAnn's usually have them in the Sunday paper, and you can also sign up to recieve them via email. You might check online as well, sometimes Amazon or Overstock.com will have them for a good deal, or you might be able to find a lower priced used on on ebay. |

Hi Debbie, I just googled "How to make a bracelet from credit cards" and found not only step-by-step instructions, but videos on You Tube! Check it out. You could also change the wording of your search and hit on different sites. Google is always my first place to look when I want info on ANYTHING. Good luck. The bracelets I saw on google were cute! |
