About a year ago I went to a Barnes and Noble for a book signing with my Mom, who had just published her first book, a devotional called The Inescapable Presence.  While there, I browsed the Christian fiction section and started reading a bit of a book I found there.  I wrote down the title and author as I couldn't buy it that day, but I lost the paper.  I know the author's name was in the first part of the alphabet, because the book was on the first or second shelf.  I know it ws before Gansky, I'm thinking C or D.  The author was a woman, and the book didn't seem to be part of a series.  It had a colorful cover, with I think the main street of a small town.  I think.  The first little bit of it I read was about a young woman who was a scout of some kind - location for movies, maybe, or perhaps a reporter.  She was in the town to find a girl who had recently been getting attention in the media for something.  The town was about to have some kind of festival.  The part that sticks most in my mind was an older lady in a cafe or restaurant talking to a pastor, and one of them made a really funny remark about pastoring driving you to drink.  I'm a PK, and Mom and I both got a good laugh at it.  I'd really love to find this book, and I'm searching Amazon, not having much luck without knowing the author or title.  If only I could sort the results by author's name!  Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated!

I believe the book is Talk of the Town by Lisa Wingate.

You can read the first few chapters here: Talk of the Town This is from the author's website. Quote from chapter 2: "Being the Baptist preacher in a small town would drive anyone to eat gin-soaked raisins, eventually." Funny story. I read the series last year.
