There is a children's reference book that is indexed by main character names.  Our children's reference librarian has found books for me by that.  (It's great to find a gift picture book with the kid's name in it.)

Oh, isn't it! My youngest son's name is Theobold, when he was about six everyone got prestuffed easter baskets from o'pa with picture books in them. Pure luck, Opa had no way to know, since the baskets were sealed, but one of the books was about a bunch of sibling rabbits, of whom one was Theobold bunny! We were so pleased!

sound remarkably similar to You are Special by Max Lucado. The woodcarver's name is Eli. There are several different books about the Wemmicks village.

Here are some of them: http://www.guidinglightvideo.com/shop/wemmicks.html

Hi, Amber,

You might try www.abebooks.com -- then go to their section marked 'Book Sleuth' -- you have to register but they don't spam you, and you can post the info you have on the book your looking for and  members will reply.  There are members who are booksellers, children's librarians, writers, and collectors.

Good luck!
