I tend to enjoy very spicy romances and erotic romance. I have an aunt who also likes to read romance and I loaned her one I thought she would really like (one of LuAnn McLanes comedies Dark Roots and Cowboy Books - not one of her erotic stories) My aunt almost had a stroke the love scenes were too graphic for her. She kept stopping to fan herself. I think she was ashamed she read the book. I am looking for some newer authors that she may not have heard of. I would like to give her a small collection for her birthday. She just retired and has a lot of time to read. Does any one have any suggestions for contemporary sweet (can be inspirational, but not necessary) romances? |

Jillian Hart writes both "regular" and inspirational romances - you might check out her titles. Also, I htink Debbie Macomber writes some sweet titles. Sherri Last Edited on: 11/1/07 5:19 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

yep try debbie macomber..don't recall any sex in those! or get the older harlequins! trying to think who else...I'm like you, I could list plenty of spicy ones! I don't recall any sex in debbie macomber's romances though and she has some good ones. also that robyn carr series isn't graphic sex either IMO..I've only read 1 and started the 2nd...think that one ties into the virgin river some have talked about..don't know if those are graphic though. you've read those haven't you sherri? there are some that I'l lskip over the steamy stuff and still enjoy the story if I"m at work for instance and can't 'afford' to read something too steamy LOL! |

The Virgin River books are good. Not a whole ton of sex in those and I think she'd enjoy them alot. Sherri |

Anthing by Curtiss Lee Matlock. Great small town romances with very little sex (some, but it's not graphic and they don't dwell on it). |

I remember reading Emily Loring books and thinking they were good stories without having a "need to fan" : ) I would think that anything by her would be safe territory and good reading. She kinda reminds me of Grace Livingston Hill minus religion. |

ooh I forgot about curtis ann matlock who was mentioned! I've read 5 of hers but in reverse order pretty much! think they're 'cold tea on a hot day', 'at the corner of love and heartache' and 'recipes for easy living' then I found 2 that tie intot he same town and some characters are in their younger years (maybe 3-4?) driving lessons and gosh darn it can't think of the other title but they're about 2 sisters and are good and I don't recall sex in them or not much and surely not fan worthy yet I reallyliked the stories. |

I've enjoyed Dee Henderson & Lori Wicks. They're both Christian romance authors and as such tend to be pretty tame. Most Regency (Signet) romances tend to be fairly low on the sex scale as well, I would recommend Diane Farr. -Anna |
