When I was a kid, my grandma had this awful children's book that I hated and I've been trying to remember what it was called.  It was about a little boy who died (like on the first page) and I think he went to heaven and lived and played with dead animals..?  He had a funny name, like Digby or something.  The book itself was really old - my mom and I laugh about it because she said they all thought it was terrible too! 

Do you have any more info on this book? Was it a picture book? AbeBooks.com is a good place for finding out-of-print books.

Thanks for the replies - my sister found it, it was called DeeGie and the Fairy Princess - it's not only out of print but the publisher no longer exists either.   It's selling for between $49-199 on Amazon so I guess it is a good book to hold on to!
