Can someone explain how this is supposed to work?  I got an email yesterday from PBS saying a member had requested me as a buddy. I click on the link but it merely takes me to the PBS homepage.

I checked in my Buddy Area - but nothing there.

I tried to PM the member, but it appears I can only send messages to Buddies now. Which, since she isn't my buddy, is impossible.

I must be missing something. Seems awfully convoluted.

Hi Jo,

To find that request, go to your Buddy List, then click on Buddy List Invitations to find that particular name.

I have no problem PM'ing people who aren't buddies --

Thanks Marsha - I didn't notice that hyperlink.

Kris - how to do you PM others? When I go to the message are and choose "new message", it only has a drop down list of current buddy names. I can select from those entries but cannot overtype a non-buddy.

Note - I know I can PM someone in the midst of a transaction with PM link provided in that section.

But how can you simply initiate a PM to someone?

Now that I think about it, maybe one has to go to their profile or booklist and PM them from there. I could try that. Perhaps that's what you meant.

Yes, there is a PM button on people's profiles & bookshelves, there's also one on every post they make. You can use any of those buttons to PM someone not on your buddy list.
