I'm trying to remember the authors of these two series, both contemporary action/crime mystery series, both that have at least two books: 1. Set in the northern-most point of Alaska, the "hero" is a young Innuit (altho I think the tribe calls themselves something different here) cop, dealing with crime in his frozen (usually) home area. One of the more recent books, however, had him go to one of the bigger cities in search of a young woman. I want to think his first name is Nathan, although that may be from some other book(s). 2. Set in England, the main character is a young woman, a police (or law enforcement) scuba diver, who's always finding bodies and clues under water. Her parents, or at least her mother, died in a scuba accident, or a car accident that went down in water, and she often thinks back to that. Any help on titles or authors would be greatly appreciated! |

Number one is, I believe, the Nathan Active series by Stan Jones. Number two is possibly the Jack Caffery series by Mo Hayder. The character you're thinking of is Flea something and she actually doesn't appear in the series until the third or fouth book.
