How many of you have read these and what do you think of them? I'm considering picking up this series (as tho I don't have enough to read now LOL) and was wondering if they are good. I know there are a ton of them available so I'll have a pretty good chance of doing a deal on them I hope.

So what y'all think?

Are you talking about  Claudia Bishop's books? I haven't read this series, either, but I might consider it if other PBSers offer good reviews....

I started reading them when they first came out, and enjoyed the first ... I dunno .. 6 or 7?? ... But I got tired of them after a while, because the characters seemed to stagnate, and I like my characters to grow throughout a series (but that's just me ... I've also grown tired of Goldy Schulz)

I dunno what happens later in the series, as I've given up on them ... but if you don't have the same psychosis I do about caracter-development, you'll probably like them ....

I've read 12 of them so far.  They started off really good, but I haven't really enjoyed the last 3 for some reason.  But, I do have one more on the shelf just waiting for me :)

Yes I am talking about the Bishop books. I haven't read any of them but was thinking about starting this series. Sounds like I might like the first few and then want to stop the series.

I've read the first one and have every single one of the rest of them waiting to be read. They all came in one day at the FOL I volunteer at so I nabbed 'em quick!!  Anyhow, I enjoyed the one I read and am looking forward to the rest.  They were easy reads, nice and calm and no "ewww' factor to them.

I do think that in many cases characters start to stagnate after awhile. I know the Goldy books (Diane Mott Davidson) did - the last three were terrible. Now the Stephanie Plum books (I'm on 10 now and have the rest waiting for me) are still going strong I think but she's got a pretty strong gimick with Stephanie, Ranger  and Joe. Plus Lulu is a riot! :)  Goldy just had no where else to go ....
