A classic Beverly Cleary book, the first in the Henry Huggins series. Well loved by children since 1950. Eight year old Henry and his big goofy dog Ribsy have many humorous adventures. My favorite is "Gallons of guppies"!
We bought this audio cassette version read by Neil Patrick Harris to listen to while on a coast to coast road trip. My boys ages 8 & 11 enjoyed it very much as I did as well. Henry and Ribsy are lovable and their story is so funny. This version also has a short interview with Beverly Cleary herself where she tells of how she became an Author and where she got the inspiration for Henry Huggins. This is a feel good story for any age!
I read this in third grade and did my book report on it. I really loved the dog in it (Ribsy)! he was so cute!
During an unforgettale year that begins when Henry discovers a lost hungry dog he calls Ribsy,.. My children have really enjoyed listening to this book,it was cute and funny.
Alot of children and adults love Beverly Cleary books.
Classic book (written in 1950), a prequel to the Ramona books, Ribsy makes his first appearance (Henry is in 3rd grade). A good antidote to stories of children destined to greatness, Henry comes from a poor family and doesn't live a very exciting life.
Great chapter book to read to first graders! This book is not the 50th Anniversary Edition, but the cover still has Henry with the dog and the sign with just a cream background.
Anything by Beverly Cleary is sure to be a winner.
A must-read for all kids!
Classic Beverly Cleary children's book for ages 4-9
Not all with this ISBN are 50th Anniversary Edition, but all are good, clean fun that has lasted over time!
Mr. Huggins is going fishing next month, and of course, ten-year-old Henry wants to go with him. Henry can just imagine sitting in a fishing boat and reeling in an enormous Chinook salmon. If Henry can keep his dog, Ribsy, out of trouble for a month, Mr. Huggins promises to take them both fishing. It sounds easy¿but then again, nothing is ever easy for Henry and Ribsy! Before Henry can stop him, Ribsy steals a policeman¿s lunch, declares war with the garbage man, and makes all the ladies of the Parent-Teacher Association very angry. Will Henry ever get the chance to catch his big fish? For over 40 years, Beverly Cleary¿s wonderful, fun-filled stories have delighted millions of children around the world. Now, narrator Jeff Woodman brings one of this Newbery Medal-winning author¿s most popular tales to a new generation in this captivating narration of Henry and Ribsy.
Never used still in wrapped in plastic.
