I've read messages on this in the past but can't find them. I received a book today but the sender didn't mark it mailed so I obviously can't mark it as received.

Do I wait til the system nudges her, asking if the book has been mailed? or should I send her a PM asking her to do it so I can 'receive' it so she can get her credit? This is the first time it's happened to me, and I know life can be distracting at times.

Gail - thanks for any suggestions/input

It just happened to me the other day.  I just PM'ed the sender and asked her to mark the book mailed so I could then mark it received.  She got right back to me and did that.

This happened to me on two books I ordered for DGD.  I was able to go into the transaction file and mark them mailed.   Pat

Thanks, Mindy. I PM'd her and will see what happens.

I didn't want to interfere with the way the system works cuz it works pretty well, but I'm sure she'd like to have her credit!

If it has rolled off your "My Account" page, then you can go into your Transaction Archive and mark it received. Make sure the system didn't order another copy for you.

What Mindy said, IIRC there's no way to get a 'received' button until the sender marks the book mailed.  PM is the first option and should resolve the situation.  If not, you may need to contact TPTB to complete the transaction.

Check your wishlist, the book would have been returned to your wishlist when the transaction timed out.

happened to me but when I got the book it was in an unpostable condition, went to the transaction archive to do the right thing and reported I got the book........when a credit was deducted from my account and given to the sender I had to ask for my credit back........thankfully I got the credit returned.

The transaction times out tomorow so I'll monitor it carefully and when/if it moves from my account page to the trans archive I'll mark it received.

I must say in my 2-1/2 PBS years I've had phenomenally good luck, but every now and then something happens that I haven't encountered before and everyone here has been great coming up with the right answers.

The system handled my problem very nicely. Went to transaction archive and marked the book received, but had to cancel order when it swung over to another member. Thanks to everyone for their input and advice.
