Annie Milliken's world begins to fall apart when she discovers that her husband has been unfaithful. Over his protestations of innocence, she leaves him, seeking shelter with her twin sister, Julie. Things continue to go downhill; a woman who bears a resemblance to the sisters is killed, Annie is arrested for grand larceny, Julie vanishes, taking Annie's baby with her, and Annie is charged with murder. Someone is trying to destroy Annie, but who? And why?

I thought this book was GREAT! 1st Kate Pepper book of hers I read & now I am hooked on her books! This story was very exciting....the type of book that I really enjoy because I just couldn't put it down!!! If a book doesn't beckon me to keep picking it up, even to read just a page or 2 when I have a chance, then it isn't what I feel is a GREAT book! The connection between the "twin sisters" & how they relate to each other is what makes this story so intriguing....I gave this book 5 stars & would have given it 10 if I could! You won't be disappointed if you read this book!!!

UPDATE: 4/17/15 - She also writes under name of KATIA LIEF & this exact title is out under THAT name now & on WISHLIST!!! You won't be disappointed if you get your hands on a copy of this book!!!

Baby on left hip, suitcase in right hand, Annie leaves her home to go to her twin-sister's house. She had discovered that her husband was cheating on her-a charge her husband denied. The proof was in the email love messages and the charges to her account that Bobbie could not explain. She would start a new life for her and her baby with the help of her much-loved twin sister, Julie.

This is a story of troubled relationships, identy theft, murder, kidnapping, and the problem of trying to find the one person you can trust, and the one person who is trying to take all of your life-your baby, identity, husband, marriage-all without you ever knowing what's happening until it's too late to stop it.

Written in a way that captures your interest from the first page. moving quickly so that you never become bored! There is NO dragging point in this book. And don't think it's over...the last chapter will turn everything back around and start you thinking all over again. You will enjoy this book very much and the ending will cause you to start re-thinking the whole story. Double the pleasure!
