Have you ever read a book where the main character has your name, or the Hero has the name of your partner? Is it weird or fun? I have never found a book with my name in it and I dont think I've seen one with my Hubbys name either. I thought about this because I just finished a book where the heroine was named Willa and I thought of the Willa that posts on here. |

I've got one on Mt TBR (and from the sound of things, she even looks a bit like me!) so we'll see! Funny thing though -- so far I've only ever come across my name in a romance used as a man's name! AND the same thing with my sister -- I've run into her name for a man, but never for a woman! I tried not to rub it in that as a men, I was a hottie but she was a bit of a thug. :P |

I've came across Justin's - but never mine; closest I've came across is Tatiana. I have one on my TBR pile that has my son's name as the hero's - that is going to be really, really odd. Last Edited on: 6/5/08 11:51 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I read one where the character has my sisters name and similar features (dark hair, dark eyes). It was an erotic book and it creeped me out. |

My husband's name is Daniel - so I come across it a bunch. My name (Natalie) I really haven't come across. I tend to read historicals (medieval-regency) and the closest I've come across is Natasha, but throughout the book she was referred to as Tasha.
When I get a book w/ the hero named Daniel, no matter what the author tries to tell me - the hero always turns into a shorter strawberry blonde w/ ocean blue eyes, broad shoulders, cute pert ass, strong hands, and a bit of a Buddha belly.

DH is a Joe and I tend to like hero's named Joe. (I think Linda Howard? )And Lori Foster...those are the 2 I can think of now. None with my name yet. |

My son has a common name and the first time I came across it in a romance, it wigged me out. Now I'm used to it and don't even notice anymore. So was the Willa book any good? Do I want to read about me? :-)

i don't think i've ever *read* one with the heroine having my name. however, there's a book i have not read where the title is the main character's name - and it's *my* name. first AND last, at least before i got married. it was a little weird the first time i saw that book somewhere! plus when my mom saw it she had to call to mention it to me. (it's just not a book i'm interested in, unfortunately.) and recently i saw that there's a second one, also with my name in the title. |

My name was in Promises to Keep by Kathryn Shay. I've also seen it a few times here and there on the back covers... |

When I come across a book with a familiar name, it draws me right out of the story. Especially when I read one with my daughter's name. Can't finish it. |

My English DH has a good English name, so I have seen it several times in historical romances. It was also in the title of an erotica book that I bought especially because of that fact (Seducing Simon)! I don't recall having read anything where the heroine has my name. It's more likely to be in a contemporary book if at all, as Dawn is really a name that mostly started being given in the 60's. |

I have never read a book with a heroine named Kim, but there are plenty of them on TV. They are usually slutty or evil, I'm not sure why :-) All of the other Kims I know tend to be really nice. |

You wanna be creeped out? Try reading a book with a "triangle" (hero & heroine + villain) whose first names are those of your parents and your brother! Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

Willa, I thought the book was GREAT, one of the best I've read in a while. It's "to wed a scandalous spy" by Celeste Bradley. It's Book 1 in her "royal four" series. it overlaps her "Liars Club" series too so if you are like me and HAVE to finish a series, you'll be in for a lot of reding. |

I've never read one with Sherri or David (my dh) but once I attempted to read one with a Kenneth (my son) and it creeped me out so I traded it. Sherri |

I'm a Sara(h) so I see it a lot in historicals especially. Usually spelled with an h which I don't have. Sadly they tend to be wimpy! My daughter is Julia and I see it a lot too. My son is Kevin and I don't remember seeing it. My husband is Kip and I've never seen it and probably won't! |

That was my problem with the 2nd Nauti book by Lora Leigh. My sister's name is Christa and she had dark hair and brown eyes (like the character). So the sex scenes were like "eww" I don't want to think about my sister having sex. My daughter is Sarah and I've read a couple with that name but they weren't erotic so it was OK. I see the name Mary a lot in historicals but it's never the heroine. Usually a friend. Mary is just not a sexy romance novel name. DH is Scott and I think I've scene it a couple times. Our parent's have odd or non-romantic names. My dad is Gene Roland (not a sexy name). My mother is Rudika (I've never met another one). My MIL is Donnalee (nice name but not sexy) and my FIL is Michael. I've seen that one a few times but we call him Mickey and so it doesn't register. My brother is Harold (another non-sexy name). |

I've seen my name twice (same spelling). In the Queen Betsy stories (MJD), "Ani" was a secondary character in a few. She originally tried to kill Betsy but ended up having a lesbian affair with Betsy's secretary. There's a book called Moving Target (forgot the author) and the heroine's name is Ani King, so she even has the same last initial. A friend of mine told me about it and she enjoyed it but I couldn't get into it at all. And not because we shared the same name. I've read books, including erotica, with both my son's names and I wasn't skeeved out at all. DH is Bill and you rarely see Bill anymore. It's Will or William. I guess Bill doesn't translate to sexy. |

Yes, as a Sarah (with the H), I've come across quite a few romances where the h had my name. |

My DH ordered two personalized novels from Bookbyou with our names, descriptions, friends & even my pet. It was a sweet gesture & fun, but not very good reading. Otherwise, I can't really say I can remember my name in any romance novel that I've read. |

I think it's kinda freaky... One of my fav books by Virginia Henley has a heroine named Tina, everytime her name was mentioned it completely distracted me from the book. Odd thing is though, when I see loved ones name (not my hubby's though, thats freaky too lol), say like my sister, whom I love to death, I find the characters more endearing to me. |

Brave the Wild Wind by Johanna Lindsey has The name Jessica they call her Jessie though which is my name . I am not a Jessica just plain jessie. Funny thing is my Husband's name is also Jesse so I don't think I will ever in a million find a romance book with the H&H as Jessie and Jesse. it's okay to laugh at me I get it all the time lol. |
