Hey, everyone who's gotten a soggy and water damaged book and lost out on a credit, I've got someone who wants them! Someone has now requested a book from me twice, and her RC says "Will only accept books from a non-smoking home, with water damaged pages." Sure, sure, she's missing a few words there. But who knows? Maybe she wants damaged books for some reason? Like she's saying, I don't care if it's damaged, I just would like to read it. I'm sure she means to say "with no damaged pages." The first time I got the RC, I rejected it, just saying I wasn't going to take any chances, and she could just re-word her RC and request it again (or turn it off). I think I have the only copy of this book in the system ("The New Yorkers"). Today, got the same RC again. Rejecto! This time with a little more heat, I have to say, explaining that it's not too hard to write a proper sentence and to fix her RC or it'd have to be rejected again. Maybe I should drop the book in the shower next time I'm in it? Then send it? She certainly would have no cause to say I didn't meet her RC!

That's kinda funmy.

I wouldn't send it with that RC, either.  I'm 95% sure that it's a typo, but what if???

Lol!  The poor lady....I am imagining dumptruck loads of water damaged books being unloaded at her front door.

I would have rejected it to.  There is no way that's not a typo....is there?   hmmm....guess that's my thought to ponder on this very happy snowday!  *happy dance*

Maybe she likes to read in the shower or the hot tub.

"I wouldn't send it with that RC, either.  I'm 95% sure that it's a typo, but what if???" . . . ditto.

You could re-read a few pages while doing dishes, a few big wet fingerprints might make her happy  ;)

LOL!

I haven't read a book at all today because it's raining a lot in NYC and I wouldn't want to risk the book getting water damage. If only the book I'm reading now was going to this lady! :P

You should send that one to TomeTrader for her "wacky RCs" collection. LOL  I would just write "doesn't meet RC--this book is not water damaged" and hope she "got it" and would read her RC more carefully. LOL

It got requested again and this time had no RC on it (as I had advised). I haven't accepted yet, b/c I'm wondering if someone would be so annoyed they got rejected twice that they'd let the book go missing out of spite. I'll send it anyway (I'm assuming it's the same lady), if it happens, it happens.

We have some members whose first language isn't English. That might be the reason it doesn't read quite right. I wouldn't worry about sending the book to her, I'm sure it will be OK.

I don't think there should be any problem sending to the member. So she forgot a word? Like Sara said, it could be English isn't their first language. It's obvious what she meant. I would have accepted her RC the first time.
