An outstanding read - with difficulties. In the first portion of the book the heroine is captured, tortured, and raped repeatedly with the intent to 'break' her. It takes a month before her friends and family manage to locate and rescue her. This would be uncomfortable reading about a relatively unknown character and is much worse when it is someone we have come to know and love through the previous books. The dynamics of Elle's struggle to overcome her physical, emotional and psychic trauma, intermixed with Jackson's personal history of the same type of experiences as a prisoner of war, were painfully powerful. I loved his bone deep strength and determination that she WILL heal and THEY will survive.

The remainder of the plot line is spent fighting off the villain who wants her back and is searching for and attacking her psychically. Of course he finds her and plans to destroy all she holds dear... I must admit I LOVED how they got the bad guy - ah, the importance of a good science education!

I also enjoyed the insights into Jackson's character as the 'mean, badass, loner' is revealed as the soft-hearted caretaker for those in need of help. His steadfast refusal to admit he's capable of anything remotely sweet is rather charming. One of the other pluses is that all the other sisters and their mates got to be a part of this story - it's nice to see them working together as friends and family.

This is apparently the last of the Drake Sisters books [after all, we've run out of sisters] but a new thread has been laid by the advent of one of Ilya's brothers - so now we may be having the Prakenskii Brothers... One way or another I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing Sea Haven again.

I would have given this book 5 stars if it were not for the first 3rd of the book. I had trouble reading through Elle's torture & rape. I had even more trouble with how fast Elle bounced back from the hell she went through. I would have preferred her coming home, having flash backs and seeing her work through it, with help from Jackson and in time being intimate with him. I guess it was all to quick for me. Otherwise I liked this book. I liked that all the sisters and their husbands had a part in it. I thought it was a good ending to the 7 book series. I also came away with the feeling we will be reading about the Prakenskii Brothers some time in the future.

This is the best book in the series. Could read the book over and over again it that good. Brings together and answer some of the questions you may have had read some of the other books. It would be a keeper if I could re-read a book.

It is very graphic and really not a typical romance novel but then again Christine Feehan's books are not your typical
romance novels. It deals with a truth of today's need to use and dominatd women. The seventh in the series was as amazing
as the the preceding six. Christine has the ability to let her readers enter into another world and live with the
characters.
After all that Elle goes through, and it is alot, they still don't stop the human trafficking ring. You dont' hear
anything else about it or about Stavros' brother. It was the main reason that Elle went undercover. Just left wondering
about the rest of the story..... OR ....is ther another series coming ? ? ?

I've read most of Christine Feehan's other books, and I enjoyed the previous Drake sisters novels. This book, however, was awful. Elle's imprisonment and rape was hard to read, but it was harder to deal with how such a subject was handled through the rest of the book. There was such a lack of insight and understanding around this issue it was appalling. One love scene in particular (and how Jackson behaved toward Elle) would have had the potential to cause a tremendous amount of psychological harm to an actual rape survivor, but it was seen as a positive way for Jackson to treat Elle. I'm not looking for realism when I read Feehan's books, but her descriptions of rape and torture followed by a decidedly unrealistic love story left a bad taste in my mouth. I may never read another one of her books, and I'm certainly not recommending this book to anyone.

This book brings the reader to an understanding of dynamics between jackson and ella, though what ella and later back ground on what jackson has lived threw will be a bit hard for some readers to take, it makes a statement that with love one can over come anything and go on. This book is a marvelous addition to the drake series. Binding all of them togeather.

I really like the way she brings the whole family together in this last book. That is something the books before missed. The girls find their guys in the book writen about them but in the following books the guys are gone. I will she had done a little more with the guys.
