These Elizabeth MacPherson mysteries are a lot of fun, with characters you'd swear you've met and intriguing plots and settings. This one takes place at the Glencoe Moutain Games, a Scottish festival.

But innocent ethnic fair is cursed when the lasthed Colin Campbell is found murdered.

Then a second murder silences everyone's bagpipes for good. Enter Elizabeth, who makes short work of her search for motive and murderer.

This was a fun and easy read. However, I knew by the middle of the book who the murderer was, before the murders were even committed. Still, there was a surprise at the end of the book that I hadn't anticipated. It also helped that I had attended a highlands festival once. But unlike many of the characters in the book, I was unable to find a tartan for MacFasulo!

A delightful, witty and clever look at that American construct--the Scottish festival and Highland games.
