Promise Me Forever by Janelle Taylor

In 1875 Savannah, Rachel Fleming Barlow Newman McCandless is known to her neighbors as the Black Widow. Only 21 years old, she has been widowed three times, most recently by the death of Phillip McCandless whose last words to her (incoherent ramblings about an illegal arms shipment) have left her terrified as well as grief-stricken. Phillips's long-estranged brother Captain Daniel Slade, convinced that the Black Widow has struck again, pretends to be Phillip's business partner while he tries to uncover the truth about Rachel's apparently fatal charms. Rachel suspects that Daniel is behind Phillip's untimely death. But even that fear can't stop her from desiring the handsome stranger. She has married three times -- for every reason except love. Only now is she discovering that losing her heart can be the greatest danger of all. Janelle Taylor can create memorable charecters and spin a tale of suspense and romance with best of them!

I have a couple of good audio books by John Gray.  One is called Mars and Venus in Love: Inspiring and Heartfelt Stories of Relationships That Work and the other is What Your Mother Couldn't Tell You and Your Father Didn't Know.  These tapes are useful tools for making the most of your relationship, whether you are married or not.

Young Wives :: Olivia Goldsmith

Unflinchingly honest and powerfully insightful, Olivia Goldsmith captures the true essence of today's woman as few writers can. And she's funny while doing it. "Olivia Goldsmith's forte has always been the writing of revenge novels with great, good humor," Washington Post Book World wrote, praising her talents, and Newsweek proclaimed she is "like Jane Austen dealing blackjack... you keep licking your fingers and reaching for the next page as if it was another potato chip." Now the acclaimed author of the phenomenal New York Times bestseller The First Wives Club returns with her most powerful and moving novel yet, the contemporary story of three young women's initial illusions, desperate reality, and clever responses to their dirty rotten husbands.

Vows (Weddings, Inc) (Harlequin Historical, No 248) :: Margaret Moore

Eternity, Massachusetts 1855
For generations, couples have been coming to Eternity, Massachusetts, to exchange wedding vows. Legend has it that those married in Eternity's chapel are destined for a lifetime of happiness. This is the story of how it all began and the townsfolk are more than willing to help keep the legend alive.
Many of the people of Eternity were outspoken in their abhorrence of the Fugitive Slave Law, which permitted slaves who had reached free states to be captured and returned to their masters. Some had joined Reverend Bowman, who was a conductor of the Underground Railroad, a network of abolitionist and free blacks who conspired to lead slaves to Canada.
Abolitionist William Powell, second to Reverend Bowman, was a man secretly committed to a just and dangerous cause and there was no room in his life for the kind of distraction that beautiful Welsh immigrant Bronwyn Davies was fast becoming. Nor for the passions she was beginning to stir in his long-barren heart. Bronwyn first arrived in Massachusetts with her little brother and two little sisters to work at Miss Pembrook's School for Young Ladies. William's younger sister Constance attended that school. When Miss Pembrook and Constance met Bronwyn and her siblings at the pier, Miss Pembrook did not like what she saw and refused to hire Bronwyn. Constance then persuaded William to hire her as their family cook in hopes it would entice their ill Welsh father to eat to gain back his health.

For Now Forever (Language of Love No. 19) :: Nora Roberts  Premed student Anna Whitfield simply had not time for men, much less marriage! But Daniel MacGregor was as stubborn as a mule when it came to getting what he wanted. He was determined to build his own dynasty-and lovely Anna was vital to his plans. Together they created moments to treasure...a love to remember now and forever.
