Two believable sleuths in a book rich in historical detail and I hope the beginning of a series. Elizabeth and Simon, both young, both with ideas of their own short-comings become friends and use their wit and intelligence to unmask a depraved murderer. King Henry is slowly dying from his leg wound and the last of his queens is in a precarious position. The characters are colorful and believable and they are from all classes of society. A carefully plotted mystery, a page-turner with touches of humor make for a delightful read.
