Great book to plan an extended backpacking trip off the north rim. Good number of black and white photos and maps. Describes length of trip in days, water locations, recommends specific 7.5 minute quad maps, and roadhead. I haven't had the luxury to put the trips into action, but picked up this book as a starter reference in chosing trails and making general plans.
I have friends that backpack the GC off the main trails and highly recommend this book.
