My Thoughts: Where to start? I will start with the price. I usually do not worry about prices but this one is around 10 dollars on amazon and its less than 200 pages which is a bit to me for such a short book. BUT, it is worth every cent. I loved loved this book. We meet Amy who is in desperate need of money so she can go to a private expensive college so she takes up a job to babysit Tristan. She does not know he's her age! And whats more? He's blind. He went blind from a horse competition. They start spending time together, and than his old girlfriend who is supposedly hot shows up! Without giving away the whole book, I will just say this book is amazing. I felt myself very entertained with the remarkable chemistry between Amy and Tristan. I also liked all the side characters, his family and her family. I particularly like his little brother. Its a great love story and when miracles like these happen, the two falling for each other, it is wonderful and gives me hope.

Overall: Renee Carter did it right!!! She wrote a beautiful and amazing story. I was hooked from the first page and over the course of the book I felt myself falling in love with Tristan. I didn't want it to end! I could have kept reading about them forever!!!! LOVED IT!

Cover: Cute cover. We don't get to see what Tristan really "looks" like so we can imagine him in our minds how we want him to look. I like the sunglasses on the ground and I like how we can just see his legs. Very artistic and beautiful just like the story. (Reviewed by Princess Bookie)

Amy dreams of becoming a journalist, but fears it might be just that - a dream. Even though her parents want the best for her, the cost of college, at least the college she hopes to attend, is not something they can afford. Then a job with an amazing paycheck becomes available.

Amy is going to babysit. Her charge's name is Tristan, but there's a catch. Tristan is about to graduate from high school just like Amy. The reason he needs a sitter is because he is blind. A horse jumping accident combined with an inherited condition involving weakened retinas have left Tristan without his sight. His mother hires Amy with the hope that someone his age can convince him to take the steps necessary to resume a more normal life.

Once Amy begins hanging out with Tristan, she learns that things are more complicated than just his loss of sight. He is also grieving the sudden death of his father and the guilt that their relationship was not at its best. Amy has her own family struggles. She tells Tristan about her mother's eccentric behavior of fixing family meals to include a son who left home ten years ago.

Although the job pays extremely well, Amy begins to realize money isn't the only thing that keeps her coming back. As Tristan begins to make small gains in adjusting to his new life, a relationship develops that goes beyond employer/employee. Since their lifestyles are completely different, Amy hesitates to get too close, but soon it just might be beyond her control.

HIS EYES is the first novel for Renee Carter. Readers will sense the chemistry between Amy and Tristan immediately. Carter fills out her cast of characters with family members such as Tristan's funny younger brother and cute little sister and an annoyingly self-centered ex-girlfriend named Lexus.

Although at times predictable, HIS EYES offers a fast-paced read for readers looking for a bit of romance.

I'm not entirely sure why so many people are bashing this book for no reasonable reason. All I have to say is if you don't like it, don't finish it and don't give a pointless review without constructive criticism.

Let me start out by saying that I hate romance. With a passion. I think it's dumb and pointless to read about someone else's love/sex life and problems because life is full of its own. But this book is NOTHING like that.

I for one loved this book. I devoured it in under four hours. From start to finish. No, this is not a change your life introspective novel. This is a sweet and loving example of what true love really is. I especially like this novel because it deals with the positive side of people, not the negative beastly side that so many people are focused on. Even the ex who shows up is talked about in a light sarcastic way. Amy speaks with such a light air and with such a unique way of looking at the world around her that the book is fun to read. You want to know what she'll think of the next situation. Tristan is one of the most real characters in a book I've read because he is so terribly, painfully flawed that he could be the boy down the road. And yet the love between them, even the interactions, are so gentle and beautiful that I couldn't help but want to have more. I wanted to read about them going to college together.

This book is especially endearing because once Amy and Tristan are aware of each other's feelings, the book doesn't fall apart. Many "romance" books completely lose themselves once the characters "hook up". Amy and Tristan are believable. They could be anyone you see on the street. And this book reminds you that love is first and foremost a pure thing and that anything that makes it any other way is a destructive thing.

This is the second of the only two books I like enough to ensure my future husband and I will read together. It is a high honor and this book deserves its spot among that list. Love without lust is attainable, and this book reminds you of it. Masterfully told and shared, I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a pick-me-up in life regardless of age, gender, or marital status.
